FITNESS.

The goal of Le RETREAT is to introduce a way of traveling that incorporates fitness into daily activities. We look to maximize the the travel experience  by enhancing it with physical activity. One of the most challenging parts of travel is figuring out how to incorporate fitness into your travel routine, so look no more!

When you join our Le RETREAT experience, you will enjoy up to 90-minutes of fitness daily, experiencing our signature Le SWEAT™ and Le STRETCH™ classes. Additionally, we will be utilizing the city as our gym and taking it to the streets for morning runs, parking it in parks for fitness drills, and turning every stairwell, wall, and tree into our very own fitness tools. This is your opportunity to travel, reconnect with yourself, and practice the art of fitness in a group experience.

All levels of fitness are welcome, but come and expect to break ‘le’ sweat. For our participants who don’t fancy running there will be alternative routes to finding your cardio.


CARTAGENA.

Cartagena, a gorgeous fishing village on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, is a beautiful and historic city nestled right next to the open sea. The historic old town is surrounded by tall walls and filled with colorful cobblestone streets full of history, shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. It is quickly becoming THE hot spot for travel.

Join Le Sweat in this beautiful city for daily Le Sweat and Le Stretch sessions, delicious meals, daily activities, local exploring, plus a day trip on a private boat to the surrounding Caribbean Islands. Have a firsthand experience of Cartagena and find what the buzz is all about.


CHARLEE.

Charlee Atkins is the founder and creator of Le Sweat, home of the Le Sweat and Le Stretch routines. Originally from New Mexico, Charlee is a fitness trainer living in the Nolita neighborhood of New York City.  She is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, a movement & mobility specialist, as well as a Master Instructor at SoulCycle.

Throughout your time at Le RETREAT, Charlee will lead you through daily Le Sweat and Le Stretch sessions, which will include using the city itself as an urban gym (think runs, stair climbs, push-ups in the park, as well as sunset Le Stretch sessions.) Le RETREAT workouts are for all levels of athletes, so every body will break a daily le sweat!

The goal of Le RETREAT is to bring like-minded adults together in a fitness and travel setting to debunk the challenging parts of both: i.e. proving you can still travel and maintain a level of physical activity without much scheduling and effort woes…as well as showing how an active lifestyle can include delicious drinks and meals with a lot of social activity!

On Le RETREAT we take you to the places you want to go and do things we like to do.

AIRPORT

Cartagena, Colombia (CTG)

For those travels coming from NYC, we recommend the following flights:

  • DEPARTING NYC: Saturday Feb. 24
    • Jet Blue #1533, leaves JFK @ 8:00 am
      • arrives at CTG @ 1:04pm
  • LEAVING CARTAGENA: Wednesday Feb. 28
    • Jet Blue #1532 leaves CTG @ 1:50pm
      • arrives at JFK @ 6:50pm

TRANSPORTATION

There will be a shuttle upon arrival to CTG that will take us the our Le Retreat house. (Drive is approximately 15 minutes.)

Le Retreat includes a 5-day, 4-night accomodation with full breakfast and twice daily workout sessions.  We will have a few excursions together as a group while also giving you time to book your own activities or simply peruse the beach or hang out by the pool!

    • We’ll be staying in heart of the old city of Cartagena where there are plenty of food options all around us! From our previous Le Retreat experience, we’ve learned that food-exploration-adventures offer a lot of flexibility in diets as well as, of course, a great way to see and experience our local surroundings.
    • Daily food budget should be about $10 USD per person for lunch and $15-30 USD per person for dinner (drinks excluded).

ACCOMODATIONS.

We will be staying in our very own luxury home in the heart of the Old City. Our home is situated perfectly, as it is close to the city’s best entertainment, restaurants, all with the tranquility of being a hidden gem within old city walls.

Our Le Retreat home has a number of unique features including ‘chill out’ pools around the sitting areas. The house has a gorgeous courtyard with lots of foliage giving a fresh and airy feeling.

On the third floor is a rooftop jacuzzi with a view of the historical center with a perfect sun worshipers terrace.

Also included: laundry service, wifi, air conditioning, and fans.
